Klara and the Sun

Klara and the Sun is a screenplay based on the eighth novel by the Nobel Prize-winning British writer Kazuo Ishiguro. Jenna plays the role of Klara in a production directed by Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit) and written by Dahvi Waller. The film was shot in New Zealand in the spring of 2024. According to The World of Reel, the movie remains in post-production and will not be released until at least 2026.
PLOT: The dystopian story is set in the near-future, in which some children are genetically engineered (“lifted”) for enhanced academic ability. As schooling is provided entirely at home by on-screen tutors, opportunities for socialization are limited and parents who can afford it often buy their children solar-powered androids as companions. The story is narrated by one such Artificial Friend (AF) called Klara. Although Klara is exceptionally intelligent and observant, her knowledge of the world is limited. She is chosen by fourteen-year-old Josie, a sickly child who lives with her mother in a remote prairie region. Klara sets about trying to save Josie and her mother from a life of heartbreak.
Klara and the Sun also stars Amy Adams (Chrissie), Mia Tharia (Josie), Aran Murphy (Rick), Natasha Lyonne (Manager), Simon Baker (Josie’s Father), Harry Greenwood (TBA) and Steve Buscemi (TBA).

PLOT: The movie “follows a desperate gallerist who conspires to sell a dead guy at Art Basel Miami.”
Ghostwriter
Much excitement is circling a new fantasy film piloted by the famed director J.J. Abrams, for Warner Brothers and his production company Bad Robot. Abrams is known for directing two Star Trek movies, two Star Wars movies and other hits such as Mission Impossible III, along with television series such as Felicity, Alias, Lost and Fringe.
In addition to Jenna, the stellar cast includes Glen Powell, Emma MacKey and Samuel L. Jackson.
PLOT: Rumours suggest it is set to involve a “young married couple struggling to survive against a supernatural entity.” There are also rumors that it will have the vibe of The Last Starfighter. As with most J.J. Abrams’ work, we’ll be kept guessing until the last minute.
Principal photography began in London on April 25, 2025, and continued in Edinburgh and Glasgow in June of the same year. In August 2025, additional filming was moved to Cranston and Providence, Rhode Island.
