With her usual deadpan delivery, Wednesday says, “I do my best work in the dark.” So ends the new Teaser Trailer for Season 2 of Wednesday.
Thanks to Netflix, we now know that the coming eight-episode season will be released in two halves—the first four episodes on August 6 and the final four episodes on September 3. Needless to say, both those dates happen to be a Wednesday.
“This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore,” creators and executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar tell the Netflix Tudum. “We look forward to exploring more Addams Family lore, and are excited to introduce an eclectic lineup of incredible new characters.”

The trailer shows the return of Emma Myers as Wednesday’s werewolf flat mate Enid Sinclair, along with glimpses of Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester. The trailer also introduces Steve Buscemi as the school’s new principal, Barry Dort.
Also returning as series regulars will be Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene Ottinger), Georgie Farmer (Ajax Petropolus), Victor Dorobantu (Thing), and Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin / The Hyde), along with Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Louis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Deputy Ritchie Santiago).
The series will also feature many fresh faces, including Joanna Lumley (Fool Me Once, Absolutely Fabulous), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld, Crash), Frances O’Connor (The Missing, The Twelve), Haley Joel Osment (The Kominsky Method, Somebody I Used to Know), Heather Matarazzo (The Princess Diaries, Scream), and Joonas Suatamo.
During its first season, Wednesday became the most-viewed English language series in the studio’s history, with 252 million views. It spent 20 weeks in the streamer’s global Top 10.
