Recently, Variety published an interview with Abel Tesfaye (a.k.a. The Weeknd). He was asked about the inspiration for his upcoming album and movie Hurry Up Tomorrow with Jenna, actor Barry Keoghan and director Trey Edward Shultz.
As was the case many times in the past, Jenna never failed to impress her colleagues. Among her amazing talents, it was her ability to improvise that blew them away.
“Jenna brought so much depth to the character,” he says. “There was a scene where Trey and I looked at each other like, ‘On paper, this is just ridiculous — how is it going to translate on screen?’ And she said, ‘I have an idea.’ She led that whole scene — none of it was rehearsed, and a lot of my reactions in it are not acting.”
For her part, Jenna was equally magnanimous. “Abel is such a sweetheart, and really looked out for everyone on our set. It was so great getting to know him and help bring his vision to life.”
Hurry Up Tomorrow will hit theatres on May 16, 2025.
