The production company A24 has released the Official Trailer for their new Comedy/Fantasy/Horror film Death of a Unicorn, and it contains enough hair-raising action to make us shiver.
Directed by newcomer Alex Scharfman, the film tells the story of a father Elliot (Paul Rudd) and his daughter Ridley (Jenna), who accidentally collide with a young unicorn on the way to a retreat organized by the father’s billionaire boss Dell Leopold (Richard E. Grant). Leopold organizes a study of the unicorn and soon discovers that parts of the unicorn’s body contain cures for cancer and other disease. But his excessive ambition attracts the mythical creature’s relatives. An enraged older unicorn attacks the group.
Death of a Unicorn completed filming in the summer of 2023 after being able to secure an interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA during the then-ongoing actors’ strike.
Besides Rudd, Grant and Jenna, Death of a Unicorn stars Will Poulter, Téa Leoni, Stephen Park, Anthony Carrigan, Sunita Mani, and Jessica Hynes. The movie will be released in the spring of 2025.
